Small Usability Enhancements
Posted by

Project downloads were one of the well hidden features on OpenNTF. On the project page a user had to guess that Downloads is hidden in "Releases" and on the releases page that you need to click on the release name to get to the page where you finally can click on the file to download. 2 guesses and 3 clicks was too much. To improve usability I introduced 3 changes:
- The menu now reads "Downloads / Releases since "Downloads" is a common searched term.
- The latest release can now be downloaded directly from the project page next to the download counter, effectively removing 66% of the necessary clicks.
- Historical releases also can be downloaded from the Releases overview page directly.
Some paper cuts less.
