OpenNTF XSnippets Contest Update
Posted by

February 13, 2013
OpenNTF is organizing "XSnippets Contest" quarterly. Contributors can win prizes at a total of $400.
XSnippets contests will continue with a little change. In previous contests, there were two categories: Randomly selected two contributors who submitted four or more snippets and two contributors of chosen snippets via judging. Effective this quarter, XSnippets contest has been changed to award contributors of four snippets which will be selected via judgement.
XSnippets are simple snippets that developers can easily copy and paste in their own apps. Typically a snippet has only one type/language, e.g. XSP or Java, but a snippet might also contain several smaller snippets with different language types defined either in the same snippet or as different snippets. Snippets that are related to each other (i.e. not usable without each other) will be counted as one snippet.
All snippets that are submitted to
http://openntf.org/xsnippets
within the quarter will be counted as submissions to the contest. Contributors have to be approved OpenNTF contributors, e.g. they need to be covered by an ICLA or CCLA. All snippets are open sourced under the Apache license version 2.
Four contributors
will be chosen via judging based on originality, technical value, wow factor, complexity and reusability for single submissions. These contributors will be awarded $100 each. Prizes will be awarded as cash prizes. Winners will be able to decide whether they want to receive payment via Amazon vouchers (US residents only), PayPal, or check in US dollars.
