TopicRE: Client-side Bayesian filter
NameScott Miller

Tom,

We are also looking at a server-side anti-spam solution (probably a commercial product, although I may push for kSpam now that I've found this site) for our iSeries Domino box. However, I am very concerned about the false positive problem, which I see as an issue of user perception as well as a technical one. Client-side filtering would seem to give the user both maximum accuracy and maximum control. If the server-side products works well, we have a boot-and-suspenders approach with little additional investment, if it does not, we have a practical alternative solution already deployed. Another plus is that resource requirements that in aggregate might choke the server should be acceptable at the client. Is there a formal license document on the site that you could direct me to? I intend to make the project code available here for use, but I want to make certain I understand the conditions for re-using code fragments from other postings. Thanks!

-Scott
