nACL Batch Modify Tool - free tool for modifying batch databases ACLs.

It can add/update, replace, remove ACL entries in many databases at one click. The tool is also can enable/disable all or specific role(s), if they exist in every database from the batch. Of course, you will need manager access to modify ACL, otherwise the database will be skipped.

You can specify filter for the batch, which database's ACLs you want to modify: by database type by specifying mask for file path or title or process all databases on the server.

If this tool resides on server, you can trigger to update ACLs to be run on server - update will execute much more faster and it will take much less time to process all ACLs. You can also sign agent (processtask) with Agent Manager id - you can trigger the process with any id, but the changes in ACL will be made using this id. Also triggering process on server is a good option if you work remotely via slow internet connection.

You will get a very detailed log, which exactly will show what ACL entries were modified for each database.

Also there is possibility to run process in test mode - it will go through the batch of databases, but it will not touch ACL - it will show in log, what will be changed, if to run process in production mode.

There are some plans to use this engine to modify not only ACL but other database properties, for example "Disable background agents for this database", "Allow document locking" or "Optimize document table map" and many-many other database properties. If you have any questions, suggestions to improve this tool or you found a bug, please do not hesitate to contact me.
