This simple snippet shows how to compare dates using the java.util.Date compareTo method. The example assumes that an inputText field with a dateTimeHelper called Date exists.

control = getComponent("Date");
val = control.getValue();
var today = new java.util.Date();
if (today.compareTo(val)<0 ){
  // Todays date is less than the date in the Date field
}
