In an XAgent you can set the HTTP response status code using the .setStatus() method on the response object.

This XSnippet sets the response status code to 404.

var exCon = facesContext.getExternalContext();
var response = exCon.getResponse();
response.setStatus(404);
facesContext.responseComplete();
